Positive Education x Innovation and Technology Education: 'Elderly-Friendly Technology Project'

Well-being & Inclusive Learning Theatre

Overview

This seminar aims to explore the following four aspects:

1. The integration of positive education and EdTech: cultivating students' soft skills and innovative thinking;
2. Elderly-Friendly Technology Project: utilising technology to enhance the quality of life for the elderly and promote intergenerational exchange; 3. Sharing of practical experiences: schools' experiences in integrating positive education and EdTech; and
4. Future outlook: increasing community engagement and optimising curriculum design.

The speakers hope to share their practical experiences through this seminar and provide suggestions for the future development of education, promoting the integration of positive education and EdTech. The major focus of the speakers’ school for 2021 to 2024 is 'Positive Living, Innovative Future', which includes a year-long 'Elderly-Friendly Technology Project' for Primary 6 students. This programme aims to integrate positive education and STEAM education to explore innovative solutions for the challenge of population aging. The three-phase programme first involves students gaining hands-on experience to cultivate care and empathy towards the elderly. Next, students will visit elderly centres to understand their actual needs, providing insights for innovative solutions. Finally, students will utilise technological tools to design solutions that can enhance the quality of life for the elderly. The entire programme seeks to inspire students' creative thinking, deepen their understanding and concern for population aging, and build a more inclusive and sustainable community through the integration of technology and compassion.

Participants of this seminar will understand:
1.innovative teaching practices integrating positive education and EdTech;
2.implementation experiences of the elderly technology training programme; and
3.forward-looking considerations for future education development
