Overview
In the ‘Teaching and Learning for 2023’ programme, this organisation collaborates with schools and teacher in practicing student-centred, value-based education and advocates the cultivation of comprehensive competencies in primary General Studies. The curriculum in the programme incorporates for core elements - authenticity, inquiry, voice and choice, and engagement – in the design of learning environments, processes, assessments, and attitudes. It employs the spiral model with contextualised learning experiences. This seminar aims to share the experiences and effectiveness of the ‘Teaching and Learning for 2023’ programme, as well as insights on how it helps prepare teachers’ mindset and teaching methodologies to effectively implement the upcoming primary Humanities curriculum.
Participants of this seminar will understand:
1. the empirical evidence of the effectiveness of the ‘Teaching and Learning for 2023’ programme;
2. the requirements of teachers in their mindset and teaching methodologies in implementation of value-based education; and
3. how to equip and support in-service teachers in implementing value-based education.
