Dissemination and Recap of School Support Experience in Self-directed Learning and STEAM Education

Innovation Classroom

Overview

Through Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks - Tertiary Institutes (QTN-T), the goal of promoting STEAM education is to use STEAM activities to cultivate students’ self-directed learning skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills. Since 2017, the speaker’s team have been assisting teachers to apply different emerging technologies in curriculum planning and implementation and cooperate with different pre-class self-study resources to help students continue to learn and explore knowledge in STEAM education-related subjects inside and outside the classroom. In addition, the Education Bureau has recently issued a primary school science curriculum framework. The team uses scientific investigation and project-based learning, combined with the engineering design process, to allow students to understand the objectives of scientific experiment design and data analysis. Finally experimental conclusion could be drawn, and project review and presentation could be conducted.
