Teaching Practice and Exploration of Scientific and Technological Innovation from an Interdisciplinary Perspective
Well-being & Inclusive Learning Theatre
Overview
In this seminar, the speaker will present the design methods of interdisciplinary thematic learning through case studies, facilitating students’ organic transition from close knowledge transfer within individual subjects to long-distance knowledge transfer in interdisciplinary thematic learning. Taking the project ‘AI Empowering Traditional Dyeing and Finishing Techniques of Xiangyun Sha’ as an example, the seminar will demonstrate how to combine AI technology with intangible cultural heritage, emphasising the practical application of project-based learning and design thinking in teaching. Finally, the speaker will discuss the impact of interdisciplinary perspectives on the future development of scientific innovation education and its positive role in the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. This seminar aims to promote innovation and practice among educators in teaching methods and interdisciplinary collaboration.
This study analyses the ‘AI Empowering Traditional Dyeing and Finishing Techniques of Xiangyun Sha’ project through case studies, exploring effective design methods for interdisciplinary thematic learning. By integrating AI technology with intangible cultural heritage, the project successfully promoted students’ creative thinking and practical skills, demonstrating the application of project-based learning and design thinking in teaching. The research findings indicate that an interdisciplinary perspective can enhance students’ understanding and recognition of traditional culture while fostering innovation among educators in teaching methods and interdisciplinary collaboration. This provides important references for the future development of scientific innovation education.
Participants of this seminar will understand:
1.the importance of interdisciplinary integration: Understanding how interdisciplinary thematic learning promotes students’ comprehensive thinking abilities, enabling them to establish connections between different knowledge domains and apply what they have learned more effectively;
2.the application of AI technology in the inheritance of traditional culture: Exploring how AI technology can be integrated with intangible cultural heritage to enhance the modernisation and sustainability of traditional crafts, providing new ideas and methods for cultural preservation; and
3.the practice of innovative teaching methods: Gaining specific case studies on the application of project-based learning and design thinking in classroom instruction, inspiring educators to practice innovation in teaching and fostering students’ active learning and collaborative skills.
