Way to Utilise Virtual Museums to Enhance Students' Historical Research Skills and Deepen Their Understanding of History
21st Century Classroom
Overview
The teaching design is primarily based on the virtual museum (public and school-based), aiming to guide students on how to engage in historical research and learning.
Students will then be encouraged to engage in self-directed learning, fostering their critical thinking and appreciation for the rich heritage of their institution and community. During the class, students will demonstrate their ability to utilise the virtual museum. The teacher will pose questions to the students, narrowing the scope and prompting them to navigate the museum and select appropriate exhibits to showcase their understanding, observation, analytical skills.
Participants of this open lesson will understand:
1. how to leverage virtual museums to support history education and cultivate students' interest; and
2. guiding students in historical research to strengthen their analysis skills
