Through Mainland Maker Education Cases to Reach the Core of Artificial Intelligence Education

Overview

Through examining case studies of maker education in the Mainland to illustrate the core pathways and methods of reaching Artificial Intelligence (AI) education. AI literacy is a scientific competency that students need nowadays. The AI curriculum outline of compulsory education issued by Shenzhen Education Bureau is used as an example to illustrate that the curriculum objectives should include the core competencies formed through AI learning, mastery of AI knowledge, cultivation of AI emotion, and development of AI thinking. Through case analysis to demonstrate how to put these principles into practices, analyse and elaborate on the concept of AI education.

Based on the curriculum objectives of ‘Shenzhen City Compulsory Education Artificial Intelligence Curriculum Outline (2024 edition)’, the study explains the necessary elements for achieving AI education and conducts conceptual analysis at the same time. The relevant content makes reference to the perspectives on the core of AI education of Professor Zhong Baichang from the South China Normal University.

2. understand the core in advancing AI education; and
3. acquire the methods and models for practising AI education from case analysis
