Science in ACTION: Facilitating STEAM and Science Activities in Primary Schools
InnoSTEMer
Overview
The project is coordinated by Man Kwan Pak Kau College, collaborating this year with nine primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong to design and implement STEAM education curriculum activities.
The objective of the project is to enhance the interest of both teachers and students in learning science by integrating STEAM and AI activities with primary school science subjects. The plan aims to use science kits, microcontroller boards, and sensors to promote STEAM education in both primary and secondary schools. Additionally, it seeks to establish a professional learning community that connects primary and secondary school teachers, thereby bridging different stages of STEAM education. The goal of this project is to enhance the curriculum of General Studies in primary schools and Science courses in junior secondary schools. By incorporating hands-on and innovative science activities, the project aims to promote creative STEAM education across primary and secondary schools.
Utilising science kits, microcontroller boards, and sensors, the project seeks to strengthen the scientific knowledge and experience of students and teachers. This will facilitate deeper interaction and support between primary and secondary education levels.
